New Staff

Historical Society adds two new staff members

The Historical Society welcomed two new employees this spring, Teresa Steer, Assistant to the Director and Carrie Whittemore, Education Coordinator.

Joining the staff after more than two years of volunteer work in the Society’s archives and museum, Teresa will be a familiar face to many. She is primarily responsible for assisting the director with the day-to-day operations of the Society. Teresa will also be handling events in Bass Hall. A Maryland native, Teresa now lives with her husband in Peterborough.

Carrie Whittemore brings a long career in classroom teaching and curriculum development to her new position as the Society’s education coordinator. A Bennington resident, Carrie has taught in the ConVal School district and at the Monadnock Area Cooperative School where she was principal.

Most recently, Carrie has been an entrepreneur, creating activity kits for schools and libraries on a variety of subjects including New Hampshire history, dinosaurs, and oceanography. Check out Carrie’s creations at www.whittskits.com.

“Teresa and Carrie have already proven themselves to be valuable additions to the Society’s staff,” said Director Michelle Stahl, “Both of them bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a love for history to their jobs.”
